(Ps: it’s better to read this in an announcer voice lol )
Teenagers love to watch all sorts of movies in their free time, but have you ever just wondered what kinds of old school movies Teenagers would love the most? No, you haven’t… well too late because I’m telling you anyway!
Disclaimer: keep in mind these movies were not picked by me, they were picked by my dad personally who has even said “These movies remind me of my childhood and being a kid back then.”
1) Back To The Future (1885) Rated PG
Coming in first place in a movie that almost every millennial has seen at least once in their lifetime. A movie so good, it makes you want to go back in time and re-watch it all over again, it’s Back To The Future.
(Get it because it’s called Back To The Future and I said re-watch almost like you are going back in time to re create the moment.. Ha Ha.. moving on)
Since I have no reason to waste anybody’s time by dropping massive Lore on all the Back To the Future history and how some of the relationship dynamics are very questionable, I’ll just put it bluntly, basically their is this kid that lives in California named Marty McFly, who sadly got knock all the way back into the 50s due to an experiment by his good old friend Emmett “Doc” Brown. There he sees his parents and is given the most important task of all time, to make his parents fall in love or.. he’ll crease to exist.
2) Critters (1986) Rated PG-13
Coming in second place i’m sure is a movie nobody in their right mind was expecting, although if you want an easy movie that can surely provide a nightmare or, Critters is the right movie for you!
For those of you who are able to take on a lot and not get scared easily, let me give y’all a run down on what this movie is about quickly.
Basically it’s about these strange fuzzy but overall horrific looking creatures arriving on a farm from outer space. These creatures meet the brown family and unfortunately for them, they ended up taking their daughter, April and their son, Brad as hostages to help them to live longer.
Thanks to some bounty hunters who couldn’t do their job probably, it’s now up to the Brown family to batter the fur balls and take back their family!
3) Gremlins (1984) Rated PG
If you’re very small and hate all things tall, Gremlins might be your call!
For all the people who are still reading, let me provide you with the only summary you will probably ever need. Basically there was once a salesman who was looking for a “Special” gift for his son. He just so happens to come across this store in Chinatown with the “perfect” gift called ‘Mogwai’.
Thankfully, the shopkeeper was reluctant to sell it to him and rightfully so because, due to the dad treat the toy like it was an plant and needed all the care in the world, more Mogwais decided they wanted to join the party and show up to ruin Christmas for everyone.
4) Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (1984) Rated PG
He’s from new Jersey and he sure loves to swing, he might as well even be the male version of Dora The Explorer, it’s Indiana Jones.
To sum it up for you, basically there is this archaeologist, Indiana Jones and in this particular story we follow his story and see him take on all types of crazy adventures in the process. He also ends up taking on a quest in retrieving a magical Sankara stone, and uncovers the secret behind it’s power before it ends up in the wrong hands..
5) Star Wars The Return Of The Jedi (1983) Rated PG
If you want a movie that might make you question even family dynamic you have ever since played on TV but also want it to be very interesting, Star Wars The Return Of The Jedi is your guy.
Since I know for a fact, there are a lot of Star Wars fans out there, let me give you a short summary for those who don’t know ANYTHING about what i’m talking about.
Basically there’s this guy named Luke Sky walker who is constantly battling Darth Vader and his minions to save his comrades from embracing the dark side. Along his travels, he meets Han Solo and Princess Leia and they team up with Chewbacca and his friends in helping to destroy Darth Vader.
6) Space Jam (1996) Rated PG
Coming in last place is a movie that is very good but overall, failed its audience in the sequel, it’s a movie that makes even your Dogs not want a Prequel , It’s Space Jam.
This particular movie is basically about a famous basketball player, Micheal Jordan waking up one day into the world of Looney Toons and with some strong.. convincing from the crew, ends up helping the Lonney Toons out with their basketball match because their basketball skills in the beginning were very.. interesting to say the least.
Overall these types of movies are terrifying to watch if approached by the wrong person but, like my dad has said time and time again, “These movies are fun to watch”
If you made it this far, thanks for listening to me rambling!
Peace Out! \O/
