Boys lax plans to maul Jaguars today
Wolverines boys lacrosse looks to leave Northwest High School with their second win of the season tonight at 7:15pm. After tough losses against Clarksburg and Quince Orchard High Schools, the boys look to overcome adversity and claw out the Jaguars.
The ‘Rines suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Clarksburg Coyotes on Monday. The team fought hard to try to get the win, but came up short, losing by a final score of 7-15. Going into the game, sophomore Joseph Clark said, “We are looking to play hard, play fast, [and] play strong.”
The Clarksburg game came after another hard loss to the Quince Orchard Cougars on April 14. They had a difficult time in the first quarter, allowing 8 goals, but picked up the pace and were able to apply some pressure later in the game. After the game, junior goalie Kush Kharod said,”We followed the game plan, we just need to keep that same mentality.”
“We played really hard in the [QO] game, we couldn’t execute some plays, QO is a really good team,” Clark added. “We just have to execute next time.”
The team had a great game at home against the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles on April 12 and came away with their first win of the season. “It takes a while to adjust to a new coach and a new system, so [now that] we won [against Seneca Valley], we know what to do and we’re gonna keep on winning,” Kharod added.
Wolverines boys lacrosse looks to rebound from a tough loss to Clarksburg, and continue playing like they did in the Seneca Valley game. They look to compete in every game and work hard every day to be the best. Going into the Northwest game, Clark said, “We want to make a statement, because we are here to win games, we are here to go to that next level and become a great team.”
