Seniors spend last day in style, host BBQ with bounce house, water slide
As seniors are getting ready to leave they’re planning on going out with a bang. Today the senior class held their annual senior prank and cookout for their last day on campus.
Class of 2019 President Alexandra Aucoin was excited to see the underclassmen and staff’s reaction to what they planned. “As everyone walked through the doors and saw the balloons in the sky bridge and the desks all wrapped together in the classrooms, their faces were priceless,” Aucoin said.
Junior Fatima Silimana said, “When I walked through the main entrance I was astonished by the way everything was, the building wasn’t a complete mess but you could tell that the seniors definitely had some fun. To me it was all funny and I can’t wait to experience this for myself next year.”
The prank consisted of balloons in the sky bridge, desks wrapped together in classrooms, Saran Wrap in doorways, a pinata filled with school supplies in the mixing bowl, gift wrapped offices and other little things.
Seniors came into the school Thursday night from 6:30- 9pm to hang up banners that were made on Tuesday after school and to set up most of the prank. The rest of the prank was set up early Friday morning (including arriving at 5:30 am to block off the staff parking lot).
The prank was then followed by a traditional senior class cookout in the staff parking lot. But this year, students took the cookout to another level. Classmates pitched in money and they rented out a moon bounce and water slide (all in one), food for the cookout and students brought some items from home.
Students brought tents, kiddy pools, water guns, water balloons, speakers for music and so much more. The junior class had their “senior storm” today as well. When the juniors came outside, the seniors sprayed them down with water guns and launched water balloons at them.
Today was definitely a day to remember. Class of 2019 is hoping to leave their mark in the school and this was one of their last chances to make a great memory together before everyone goes their separate ways.
