Sports Wrap Up: April 4
Softball
The Lady ‘Rines opened up their season against the Albert Einstein Titans yesterday, April 3, at home. Although the Rines fell 15-3 to the Titans, the team feels prepared for their next challenge. Sophomore Nadia Stoute said that the team “felt alright,” and “didn’t make as many mistakes as they thought they would.” The team was pleasantly surprised with their performance on opening day.
The ‘Rines look to use what they learned from the first game against the Walter Johnson Wildcats this Saturday, April 7 at 1:00 pm at Walter Johnson. Come out and support our ‘Rines!
Boys Lacrosse
Boys lacrosse lost their opening game against Einstein high school, 15-3. The Wolverines didn’t start like they wanted to, but throughout the game started pulling themselves together. Seniors Royce Fianko, Selom Kalin, and Griffin Borman made each of the three goals putting the ‘Rines on the board. The ‘Rines next game will be tomorrow, April 5 at 7:15 pm at home against Northwestern High School. Don’t forget to come out and support!
Girls Lacrosse
The Girls lacrosse team opened up the season with a impressive victory over Albert Einstein High School in overtime, finishing with a final score of 13-12.
“We did very [well], we were down in the first half but came back and tied it in the second half, and won it in overtime,” said senior captain Virginia Schlosser.
The ‘Rines look to continue their win streak in their next game tomorrow, April 5, against Northwestern High School away at 7:00pm.
