Flicking it up at school: how to take the perfect Instagram picture

If you’ve ever looked at my Instagram, you might notice a pattern. I take phenomenal pictures at school. I know it all when it comes to angles, lighting, and scenery. I believe that if you look bomb, then you deserve to be shown off on to the world, not just at school.

First, you’ll need to find lighting. Natural lighting is always the best lighting. But if you’re not willing to stand outside for a picture, take one near a window so you can get some sort of natural lighting.

Second, you’ll need a loyal cameraman, preferably a friend. You’ll need someone who knows what they’re doing and wants the best for you. If you find a random stranger to take your picture they won’t care about you looking good. They’ll most likely rush the picture and that’s never what you want. You need to find someone who will do you justice.

Third, the quality has to be on point. My cameraman has an iPhone X, so you already know my pictures look scrumptious. Quality is very important. Nobody on Instagram is going to like a low-quality picture.

Fourth, your outfit has to be immaculate. Don’t half your outfit. Don’t take a picture just to take a picture. Make sure to show out. This isn’t a picnic, you need to make your followers be like, “Oh she got it like that?” Make the ones that slept on you wake up.

Fifth, know how to pose. Your cameraman should tell you how to pose and should be giving you tips. Don’t be stiff, but don’t be corny either. Don’t do the regular hand on the hip and duck face. Practice in the mirror so you can recognize which side is your good side. Also while practicing in mirrors, practice body positions so you know what you think looks good with your body.

Follow these steps and people will start to feel your pressure. After taking a long nap, they’ll finally wake up from sleeping on you.
