Sports Wrap Up: January 16

Boys Basketball

Boys basketball had a very close loss against Rockville High School, Friday January 12. They lost to a final score of 37-34.

“Even though we lost, the team came out, [and] played hard,” senior Markel Grant said.

The team hopes to avenge their loss tonight at Poolesville High School. Good luck ‘Rines!

Girls Basketball

Girls basketball beat the Rockville Rams last Friday, January 12 with a winning score of 38-19. The Wolverines improved not only their defense, but their offense too. The ‘Rines were on their top game. They plan on keeping the same mentality and tactics for the remainder of the season. Good luck, to the ladies as they face the Poolesville Falcons tonight. Come out and support!

Swim and Dive

Watkins Mill girls swim and dive finished in first place with 81 points against Einstein and Paint Branch High Schools. The boys team finished in last after hard tough battle. Senior captain Naina Tsarni gave a  great performance for the girls team. The Wolverines plan to conquer the Wheaton Knights on Saturday January 20 at 12:30 pm at the Martin Luther King Swim Center. Bring home the W ‘Rines!
