Oompa Loompa costume serves as perfect disguise to get candy tomorrow night
It’s almost that time of the year again; the weather has chilled (almost) and people are out shopping to acquire gifts… for themselves. Some may even call it the most wonderful time of the year, while others lock their doors and close the windows on the holiday. Pfft, haters.
That’s right kids, it’s Chri–oh wait, no it’s not.
It’s Halloween, I was definitely going to say Halloween.
Oh well, the holidays are upon us people! So why isn’t any one else pumped yet? I have committed myself to wearing a Willy Wonka original, the one, the only (I mean, technically, there are multiple of them but let’s just spare me the “technicalities”) Oompa Loompa costume.
When I was a kid, whenever I’d cry, my face would turn bright orange and there was this stage of my life, for some unknown, awful reason when I decided it’d be a good idea to dye my hair green. So, this year I just decided to embrace my fate.
My friends advised against it. They were going on about, “not being seen around such a buffoon,” or something. I still don’t get it. I’m fine being seen with them, no matter how embarrassing they seem.
Even if you’re not one to dress up, because you think there’s such a thing as “being too old to run around in silly costumes,” (by the way guys, that’s not a thing.) Halloween is still for you!
Who doesn’t like free candy? Plus, if you know where to go, aka the rich neighborhoods, you can get yourself a couple months worth of full-sized candy bars. Like how is that not exciting? I practically drool when I even hear the word chocolate.
Now unlike most people, my pillowcase full of candy will probably be fully consumed by the end of the night, but we can’t all live life dangerously.
As I slowly slip into a chocolate-induced coma, I have one wish for you all; don’t rush over Halloween as an excuse to get to Christmas faster.
I don’t know about you, but I’d love to live in a world where everyone comes to school one day a year in full Oompa Loompa costumes.
Oompa Loompa Doompa De De, if you are wise, you’ll listen to me.
