Photo Feature: Football Senior Night

Watkins Mill’s Varsity football team hosts their senior night game on Friday against Thomas S. Wootton.

The ‘Rines varsity football team hosted the Wootton Patriots at the Den for their senior night on Friday. The ‘Rines fought their best, ultimately falling to the Patriots 51-14.

The senior night featured other student-athletes, including cheer, poms, and band. The football team held their celebrations at 6:30 p.m. while the other teams celebrated during the halftime show. Students were escorted by friends and families who came to show their love and support for the athletes, especially as seniors. Support the ‘Rines at their next game on Friday at 7 p.m.!

Obehi is an International Baccalaureate Career Program senior at Watkins Mill High School and Co-Editor-in-Chief for The Current. Obehi loves reading books, spending time with friends and family, watching television, and listening to variations of music. She is the WM Minds Matter club president and Vice President of the Minority Scholars Program (MSP). Obehi is also a co-captain and plays defense on her Varsity field hockey team. She plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in finance/business.

Huswat Olajide, Editor-in-Chief

Huswat is an IB Career program senior at Watkins Mill High School and Co-Editor-in-Chief for The Current. She is the president of the Minority Scholars Program (MSP). In her spare time, she loves reading, crocheting, listening to music, and watching movies, shows, and K-dramas. She is the captain of varsity field hockey and plays lacrosse as a defender and she loves having fun with her teammates. She plans on going to a four-year university after graduation to pursue a career in the medical field.

Abijah Hines, Associate Editor

After his great rise to fame, Abijah finally made it to the top. Carrying the current his first year as a staff writer, he earned his position as Associate Editor? Hang on, I need to check this, he should be the CEO one moment….. Apparently not. Either way, he likes games, reading, and working out. If you need something written, you can find him at A202.
