What to do when your parents take away your phone
As a person who gets their phone taken away at least every other day—whether or not it’s even my fault—here are a few things to do instead when that happens!
- Call your bestie on your computer through Instagram
My parents think I spend too much time on calls, but it’s really not that much time. Maybe like two hours. But to them, that’s enough reason to take away my phone. So what you can do instead is continue your call on your computer! They forget we have computers. Where there is a will, there is a way. If you’re determined enough to continue that call, you will go to extreme lengths. If your friend doesn’t answer, they’re fake. Drop them at all costs. Real ones are with you, phone or no phone!!!
2. Clean your room
Now I won’t say my room is the best sight ever, so I won’t. It needs to be cleaned often, as in every day. So why not take this opportunity that I didn’t ask for to do it now? There’s no phone to distract me or any urgent homework I need to complete, it’s perfect timing. Put some music on your computer and get cleaning!
3. Go disturb your siblings
Ahhh, if I have nothing to do, they’re going to hear from me?. I’m sure your siblings would be grateful to have you in their presence. You’re just so amazing that every breath of air they take next to you is a blessing to them. It’s the perfect plan. It cures your boredom and entertains everyone! Maybe not them, though?. But seriously, sometimes it’s good to check up on them and see how they’re doing.
4. Sleep
Now I’m not one to talk because I never get enough sleep, but sleeping sometimes isn’t a bad idea. This is usually the last option left if you’ve exhausted all your other sources of entertainment. Someone wise once told me, “You don’t have to feel sleepy to sleep.” Don’t be like me and actually listen to those wise words. (Editor’s Note: Such wise words that I’m sure come from an extremely wise person.)
5. Beg for your phone back
Last but surely not least is to beg for the phone back. It is your last chance at happiness, at comfort, at LIFE! Your parents have nothing on you ???. Reassure them that you’re a great multi-tasker and you’ll do what you need to get done while being on the phone. Anything is possible, so they just might give it back. If not, before you give it to them, set your alarm for 4 am and let it ring at ten minutes intervals. Give them no peace and go lower so you can expect to have it back by then. This one always works, so if it doesn’t, then might as well just pray and hope to get it back with a miracle.
Sometimes we have to accept the fact that we’re not always at fault for getting our phones taken away, but it happens. We understand, so that’s why this list was created. I have fallen victim to this numerous times, so I hope this list helps you as it has helped me.
