As we come to the end of the spring sports season, we await to find out the paths that our teams will have to take to compete for the championships.

Baseball

The ‘Rines will not compete in the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) 3A West Region II. Congratulations to all of the athletes for a hard fought season!

Softball

The Lady ‘Rines compete in the MPSSAA 3A West Region II, and will play against the Kennedy Cavaliers in the Regional Quarterfinals as the sixth seed tomorrow, on Thursday, May 12. The full bracket can be found on the MPSSAA Softball State Championship homepage.

Boys Lacrosse

The ‘Rines compete in the MPSSAA 3A West Region II and will play against the Damascus Hornets in the Regional Quarterfinals as the seventh seed today, Wednesday, May 11. The full bracket can be found on the MPSSAA Lacrosse State Championship homepage.

Girls Lacrosse

The Lady ‘Rines compete in the MPSSAA 3A West Region II, and after achieving the sixth seed will face off against the Springbrook Blue Devils in the Regional Quarterfinals tomorrow today, Wednesday, May 11. The full bracket can be found on the MPSSAA Lacrosse State Championship homepage.

Boys Volleyball

Unfortunately, the ‘Rines finished outside of the top 16 in the Montgomery County Public Schools rankings, thus missing the playoffs. Congratulations to all of the athletes for a hard-fought season.

Coed Volleyball

The ‘Rines compete in the MCPS County Tournament, and faced off against the Springbrook Blue Devils in the Round of 16 on Monday, May 3. The game finished in a 3-0 loss, meaning the ‘Rines have unfortunately been eliminated from the playoffs. Congratulations to the team for making the playoffs and having a strong season.

Boys Tennis

The ‘Rines compete in the MPSSAA 3A West Region Tournament and will face off against an opponent in the first round on Friday, May 13. More details can be found on the Tennis Spring Bulletin.

Track and Field

The ‘Rines will compete in the MCPS County Championship Meet on Wednesday, May 11 at Seneca Valley High School.

The Varsity B Meet will be held at Einstein High School on Saturday, May 14.

The ‘Rines will then compete in the MPSSAA 3A West Region Championship Meet at Oakdale High School on Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18. Athletes who qualify for the state championship will compete in the MPSSAA 3A State Championship meet on Saturday, May 28 at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex.
