Field Hockey

In the field hockey game against Einstein High School, the ‘Rines varsity team walked away with a 1-0 win, while the junior varsity team left with another loss at 7-0.

As varsity approaches their last game of the season, things are looking bright. The girls are excited about their win but understand they need to work on improving in order to walk away as champs.

“[We could’ve] played hard from the start,” sophomore Hermine Smith said.

The girls believe if they come ready to win and stay with the ball, the win is theirs for the taking.

JV’s last game against Einstein resulted in an unfortunate loss, but the girls are still happy with their team and excited for next season. They believe that if they put in more effort in games, next year is theirs.

“We could work a little harder [as a team],” freshman Heather Hernandez said.

Girls Volleyball

The varsity team lost two games this week. First, on Monday, October 7, they lost 3-0 to Damascus High School and then Thursday, October 10, they lost 3-1 to Gaithersburg High School. They played their best, but just didn’t win. The girls also have their Dig Pink and senior night next week October 16 at Watkins Mill High School. They’re playing Rockville High School.

The junior varsity team played a very solid game against Damascus High School. The girls played well and it showed at the end with a great score of 2-0. The girls also played Gaithersburg High School on October 10, but sadly the girls didn’t win and instead lost 2-0. The next home game will be October 16 against Rockville High School.
