Sports Wrap-Up: October 7-11

This week in sports wrap ups ends with tonight’s football game against Damascus High School.

Field Hockey

In the field hockey game against Einstein High School, the ‘Rines varsity team walked away with a 1-0 win, while the junior varsity team left with another loss at 7-0.

As varsity approaches their last game of the season, things are looking bright. The girls are excited about their win but understand they need to work on improving in order to walk away as champs.

“[We could’ve] played hard from the start,” sophomore Hermine Smith said.

The girls believe if they come ready to win and stay with the ball, the win is theirs for the taking.

JV’s last game against Einstein resulted in an unfortunate loss, but the girls are still happy with their team and excited for next season. They believe that if they put in more effort in games, next year is theirs.

“We could work a little harder [as a team],” freshman Heather Hernandez said.
