Watkins Mill football played yet another successful game last Friday, September 15, winning their second game in a row against the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons by a blowout score of 48-0.

After beating the Magruder Colonels last game, the Wolverines came out energized and well prepared to play the Barons. When senior captain Michael Smith scored the first touchdown off of a punt block, it sparked a lasting energy throughout the game. “It gave us a real confidence boost,” Smith said about his blocked punt return.

With the crowd cheering all night, senior Salekri Sayeh said, “The energy level was great.” It kept not only the players, but the fans hyped all night. “We wanted to hold them to 0 points on defensive,” Sayeh said. The ‘Rines met their goal that night, but were only two points shy of reaching their other goal to score 50 points against the Barons.

“We came out well prepared,” senior captain Markel Grant said. After working hard in practice and watching film almost everyday the hard work payed off for the ‘Rines in the end with a blowout score. The ‘Rines will face the Seneca Valley Eagles this Saturday, September 23. Don’t forget to come and support!
