Watkins Mill girls’ lacrosse ended their season last night when the Sherwood Warriors beat them 1-17 in the first round of the playoffs. After a 4-8 record in the regular season, the team drew a tough match in the first round and were forced to travel on the road to Sherwood. Despite not meeting in the regular season, both teams came well prepared for each other but the Warriors were able to dominate.
The Watkins Mill boys lacrosse team faced the the Quince Orchard Cougars yesterday, May 10 at the Cougar Dome. The team fought hard keeping the score close, within two points, during the first half. They continued pushing in the second half but started making mistakes that the Cougars were able to capitalized on. This led to QO scoring on the ‘Rines, which Watkins Mill could not stop them. The score at the end of the game was 17-3, ending the Wolverines season while Quince Orchard moves on to the second round of playoffs.
