Senior Hassan Nazir achieved a remarkable milestone during the Blake basketball game this Monday scoring his 1,000th point in his high school career. Hassan is the third boy in Watkins Mill history to reach this milestone, behind Tyvon Grant and Corey Robinson.
“Reaching 1,000 career points is an incredible milestone that speaks to Hassan’s dedication, hard work, and passion for the game. This achievement is not just about the points he scored but also the countless hours he has spent in the gym, the support of…teammates and coaches, and the determination Hassan has shown on and off the court,” said Coach James Lewis.
“It feels good because I worked hard for it,” Hassan said. His next goal is to “win regionals, divisions, and go to states and have a good record.”
Athletic Director Lisa Magness said, “The Athletic Department is pleased to recognize Hasaan for becoming the third boys’ basketball player in Watkins Mill history to achieve the milestone of 1,000 career points. Since his freshman year, Hasaan has been a dedicated varsity starter, demonstrating exceptional commitment and effort both during the season and in the off-season to reach this significant accomplishment. This is an exciting time for our boys’ basketball program, and we anticipate a strong finish to their season. Congratulations once again to Hassan!”
“The coaches from Watkins Mill are amazing. They’re the reason I’m scoring, they’re the reason I’m the player I am. I am gonna leave a legacy behind when I graduate because I’m still going to be around the community and help around when I can, even though I’m going to be in college,” Nazir said.
We are very proud of his achievements and can’t wait to see what his future holds.
