When I opened Canvas this morning, I found that all of my class modules had mysteriously disappeared. Poof! Gone, like my motivation to do homework. My first thought was, “Who dropped the ball on this one?” My second thought was, “Where did all my work go? Did it join a secret society of missing assignments? Maybe a dog ate it?” 

Thankfully, I wasn’t alone in this digital disaster show—everyone else was in the same boat, so I sighed in relief. Misery loves company, right? It took the central office about 30 minutes to send out a message explaining the obvious. I guess nothing says “Happy last day of school before winter break,” quite like instilling fear in everyone at MCPS by making all of their work disappear. Maybe it’s part of a new program aimed at encouraging students and staff to take a break from their assignments during the holiday.   

Wherever these assignments may be, I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable winter break filled with time to relax and recharge for these upcoming assignments.
