Boys lacrosse looks to get a first-round win against the Quince Orchard Cougars in the playoffs today at QO at 6pm. They have been preparing all season for a hopefully deep playoff berth, and now that it’s here, they are ready to win.

The team picked up a great win against the Northwood Gladiators on their senior night Monday. The team played with a lot of heart, really striving to give their seniors a win on the night of their final home game. “It felt good, like it was long-deserved throughout the season,” senior Shawn Simpson said about the game. “The team played like they should’ve, and we got the dub.”

The team looked to pick up their third win of the season, in a home game against the BCC Barons on May 2. The team fought hard but lost 3-11. Junior Nathan Wright added that the team was “ball watching a lot, or not communicating.” This problem clearly did not stick with them as they came out with a win in their next game.

Boys lax tried to keep their momentum going and get another win under their belt but fell short to the Rockville Rams on April 30 by a score of 12 to 17. The team battled throughout the whole game, answering the Rams’ 17 goals with a solid 12 of their own. “We played really well on the offensive end, it was one of the few games we have done that,” Wright added.

The team looks to maintain the winning mentality they had on senior night against the Gladiators. Despite the team’s record of 3-10 they look to dominant in the postseason.  “I feel like we have a pretty good chance against any team,” Wright added. “We want to make it to the regional championship, that has been our goal all season.”
