Watkins Mill High School’s annual homecoming is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, from 7 to 10 PM in the main gym. Tickets are priced at $20 and can be purchased online via the School Cash Online portal or at the Mixing Bowl during STEP this week. The final day to buy tickets is September 26 during STEP.
The policies and rules of MCPS and WMHS will still apply during the dance. Doors will open at 7 PM and will close at 8:30 PM; re-entry will not be permitted. A photo ID is required for entry along with your ticket, and all guests must submit a guest form in advance.
Every year, homecoming brings excitement to both students and staff. This week, the yearly homecoming halls competition, organized by each grade’s class council, was showcased for everyone to enjoy. On Monday morning, when the doors opened at 7:45 a.m., students had the opportunity to walk around the hallways and admire the impressive creations. This year’s theme is “Fantasy Worlds,” and each class represented a different universe: seniors chose Marvel, juniors tackled Harry Potter, sophomores decorated for Alice in Wonderland, and freshmen presented Once Upon A Time.
On Thursday, September 26, there will be a pep rally in the main gym after 7th period (1:18pm). Students will participate in team-building activities with staff, and the winners of Homecoming Hallways will be announced.
One of the highlights of homecoming week is the highly anticipated football game. This year, our ‘Rines will face off against the Wheaton Knights at home on Friday, September 27, at 6:30 PM – the theme will be Red, White, and Blue!
