Boys lacrosse looks to ram Rockville tomorrow after crushing Cavaliers
Varsity boys lacrosse looks to take down the Rockville Rams tomorrow, at 12:00pm at Rockville High School, planning to continue with the same mentality after a win against the Kennedy Cavaliers on Wednesday.
The ‘Rines defeated John F. Kennedy and got their second win of the season. Sophomore Selom Kalin received the game ball. “I hustled and played hard,” Kalin said. “We finally listened to coach, we finally went by the playbook. We were listening, we ran our plays, the defense played well, they talked and communicated.”
This was a much-needed win after the devastating loss that the team suffered against the Albert Einstein Titans on Monday at Einstein. They battled hard throughout the whole game, but in the end, lost by a score of 11-14.
This was a good match-up for the team, and if they happen to run into them in the playoffs, they will be looking for revenge.”We were winning at the half, but in the third and fourth quarters, we weren’t playing with as much intensity,” sophomore Joseph Clark said.
Boys lax fought hard but fell short against Northwest Jaguars on April 21 at Northwest. The ‘Rines kept the Jaguars on their toes but eventually fell with a score of 7-12. “We weren’t really communicating,” junior goalie Kush Kharod after the game said. “We were trying to play individually, wWhich never works out in any team sport.”
Although they still have three more regular season games, the team is already thinking about the playoffs. “We are looking towards the playoffs,” Kalin said. “We are just getting ready.”
Although the season has started off slow for the boys lacrosse team, they still have a good chance at a good playoff run after beating two decent lacrosse teams in Kennedy and Seneca Valley high schools.
