Watkins Mill High School welcomed students and their families for a fantastic night at the open house on Thursday, September 7. The free family cookout was held in the cafeteria from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with various foods like hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks, all distributed by administrators.
There was a senior parent meeting held by the college and career counselor Sarah Kessler from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the media center with information about college applications and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid process. A separate senior parent meeting for Watkins Mill’s Spanish-speaking population was held in B102. The Hispanic Outreach Meeting was held simultaneously in the cafeteria connecting Watkins Mill to a larger Hispanic community.
It was great to see all the student’s families come out and show interest in their child’s school life. It was fun and engaging for students, administrators, and staff.
