Athletic Department

Bocce

The ‘Rines competed in the Divisional II Championship on Saturday, January 28 at the home of the Sherwood Warriors.

The ‘Rines played their first round match against the hosts, and came out on top, earning a spot in the Divisional Championship and next week’s County Championship, which will be hosted by the Paint Branch Panthers.

The ‘Rines unfortunately lost in a close-contested tiebreaker set against the Panthers in the Divisional Championship match, but will compete at the home of the Panthers tomorrow at 10 am. Don’t miss out on these exciting matches by coming out to support the team!

Wrestling

The ‘Rines went head-to-head with the Richard Montgomery Rockets on Tuesday, January 31.

Freshmen Ben Beccles and Leandro Fernandes, sophomores Max Torres, Jabea Ewane, and Raiden Siapno, and juniors Braden Martinez and Nebi Tsarni all pinned their opponents as the ‘Rines came back to a big 48-30 win, their fourth of the season.

That match was the last of the season for the ‘Rines, and their next matches will be for the County Championships on the February 17 and 18, so stay tuned for updates!

Swim and Dive

The ‘Rines competed in a meet against the Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles on Saturday, January 28. The meet ended in a 226-126 loss against the Screamin’ Eagles.

The ‘Rines will compete in Division IV Championship meet tomorrow, Saturday, February 4. The meet will take place at Olney Indoor Swim Center at 7:30 am.

Boys Basketball

The ‘Rines started their week off with a trip to the home of the Cougars of Quince Orchard on Monday, January 30. The game ended in a tough loss of 56-29.

The ‘Rines played at The Den on Wednesday, February 1 against the Paint Branch Panthers, going back and forth throughout the game. Unfortunately the ‘Rines lost in a close 80-68 battle.

The final game of the week for the ‘Rines is tonight at 7:15 pm at the home of the Northwood Gladiators. Don’t forget to buy tickets on GoFan to help support the team.

Girls Basketball

The Lady ‘Rines played their first game of the week against the Quince Orchard Cougars on Monday, January 30, ending in a loss of 59-12.

The Lady ‘Rines continued their week against the Paint Branch Panthers on Wednesday, February 1. The game ended in a tough loss of 56-26.
