The ‘Rines defeated the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles 1-0 on Wednesday, September 7. An incredible save from senior Deacon Buchanan during regulation was enough to force overtime, which was when sophomore Oscar Rivera scored a rocket from outside the box to win the match.
“This [game against Seneca Valley] gives us a lot more confidence, it shows that we can [win] when we play right and fix our mistakes,” head coach Josh Halper said.
“The mentality of this team is amazing, we kept our heads in the game the entire time,” Buchanan said. His save “was like a movie and everything went quiet,” Buchanan added.
