Sports Wrap-Up: January 21-28
Swim & Dive
The ‘Rines went up against the Kennedy Cavaliers on Saturday, January 22. The meet ended in a win of 167-83.
They will go up against the Northwood Gladiators on Saturday, January 29. Make sure to cheer on the ‘Rines as they swim their last meet of the season before their Divisionals competition.
Wrestling
Watkins Mill wrestled against the Blake Bengals on Monday, January 24. The match ended in a 53-18 loss.
The ‘Rines then matched up against the Damascus Hornets on Wednesday, January 26, ending in a 69-10 loss.
The ‘Rines cap off their week with a match against the Rockville Rams and the Poolesville Falcons tomorrow at 1 pm. Make sure to show your support to our wrestling team with their match tomorrow.
Boys Basketball
JV and Varsity played against the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles on Friday, January 21. The JV game ended in a 77-32 loss while the Varsity game ended in a 73-56 loss.
Unfortunately, the boy’s basketball game scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to weather conditions, and as of now, there is no reschedule date set in stone. The next game for the ‘Rines is home next Monday, January 31, against the Quince Orchard Cougars at 5:30 pm, and 7:15 pm for JV and Varsity respectively.
Girls Basketball
The Lady ‘Rines lost 71-9 against the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles on Friday, January 21. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, their match tonight against the Damascus Hornets has also been postponed. The next game is Monday, January 31, against the Quince Orchard Cougars away at 7:15 pm.
