Top five things to do this fall
The leaves are starting to change colors and fall off trees. Night comes earlier, and each day the temperature drops. This can only mean one thing: autumn is here! Here are the top things to do this fall.
GO TO A PUMPKIN PATCH
There’s so much to do at these festive events, such as hayrides, corn mazes, and even petting zoos. Some of the best pumpkin patches in Maryland (no debate) are Summers Farm in Frederick, Butler’s Orchard in Germantown, and Gaver Farm in Mt. Airy. My personal favorite is Gaver Farm. Not only can you pick pumpkins, but you can also pick sunflowers if you’re up for a little flower picking as well. There are so many animals at this farm including; goats, cows, pigs, donkeys, sheep, and alpacas. You can guarantee a great fall afternoon at one of these amazing farms.
HAVE A HORROR MOVIE MARATHON
There are so many classic horror movies that will certainly scare your pants off. So, slip into your Jack Skellington pajamas, make some popcorn, and bundle up into your blankets to watch hours of these terrifying movies. Some spooky movies to watch this fall Scream, The Conjuring, Hereditary, It, and Get Out (these are my personal favs). This is a simple but fun activity to bask in during the fall season.
GO TO FIELD OF SCREAMS
A perfect way to start off the spooky season, screaming your head off in a field. Actors terrify you as you walk along a wooded trail (don’t worry, they can’t actually touch you) and all you can do is keep on walking, not knowing what lies ahead. Field of Screams is open every Friday and Saturday and most Thursdays and Sundays. Buy your tickets online and don’t miss out on your chance to be in a real life horror movie.
THROW A HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY
It doesn’t matter that it’s not October 31 yet, just throw a Halloween party anyway! Dress up as your favorite movie character, a historical figure, or space cowboys. Let your imagination run wild and have the best night of your life with your friends.
BAKE DESSERTS
I know this seems like a Christmas activity, but trust me when I say this is definitely something to do during the fall. The possibilities are endless; make banana bread, pumpkin bread, apple fritters, pumpkin pie, a cheesecake roll, pumpkin cookies, honestly anything that your stomach desires. This is something you can do by yourself or with friends and families (even your dog). Cozy up and watch some movies while eating some homemade pumpkin bread.
Happy fall, y’all!
