Sports Wrap-Up: September 13-17
Varsity Field Hockey
Varsity Field Hockey traveled to face the Gaithersburg High School Trojans on Monday, September 13 and went on to win 4-0 for their first win of the season.
“I’m so proud of everyone on the team and I’m so excited to see what we can do against Poolesville on Wednesday,” varsity captain Jeyssi Huaycochea said.
Varsity Boys Soccer
Late drama against the Clarksburg High School Coyotes on Tuesday, September 14 and a cool finish on a penalty kick from Anthony Hernandez put Varsity on top and helped them win 2-1.
“Our guys came out ready to win… [we] were not losing,” varsity’s goalkeeper Deacon Buchannan said.
Make sure to come out to the Den tonight to watch both junior varsity and varsity play against the Wootton High School Patriots at 5:30 and 7:15 respectively.
Varsity Girls Soccer
Varsity hosted Clarksburg High on Tuesday, September 14 at the Den, but unfortunately lost 11-1, make sure to watch their comeback tonight at Wootton high school at 7:15.
Football
Varsity traveled to face Rockville High School on Friday, September 10 but suffered a 48-12 defeat at the hands of the Rams. A defensive pick-six wasn’t enough to come away with the win but be sure to head out to Poolesville High School to cheer them on tonight.
“We definitely see improvement every game, just wait for the comeback,” varsity football’s linebacker Shayan Solimani said.
On Saturday, September 11, junior varsity lost to the Rockville High School Rams 34-0 but they’re hoping to bounce back before varsity’s game tonight at 7:00 , and junior varsity at 3:30, make sure to come out and support the ‘Rines.
Volleyball
Varsity are hoping to get their first win of the season at home tonight against the Northwest High School Jaguars. Make sure to show some love for the home team tonight at 5:30 for junior varsity and 6:30 for varsity respectively.
