The graduation ceremony for the class of 2021 was held at Watkins Mill High School’s stadium on Saturday, June 13, 2021.
As opposed to previous years, this was the first graduation ceremony held at the school’s stadium, with a drone capturing an aerial view of the school. Most of the ceremony remained unchanged. Graduates were still allowed to walk on stage to collect their diploma, while some students chose to attend virtually.
This marks an important time in the lives of the Class of 2021, not only being the first in-person graduation since class of 2020, but sending them off to new chapter. “To our graduates, I’m very proud of what you have accomplished. I’m extremely excited to stand before you today. It has been a privilege to get to know you, and see you and your accomplishments that have gotten you to this special moment,” Principal Carol Goddard said.
