Sports Wrap-Up: December 14-19
Girls Basketball
The Wolverines faced Bethesda Chevy Chase High School on Wednesday, December 18 at home. They fell to the Battlin’ Barons 73-29 but plan to bounce back and defeat Seneca Valley High School’s Screamin’ Eagles at 7:15 on Friday, January 3 to start off the new year.
Boys Basketball
Watkins Mill High School’s boys basketball team defeated Bethesda Chevy Chase High School on Wednesday, December 18. The final score was 65-63 after a closely fought game. The boys return after winter break on Friday, January 3 against Seneca Valley High School at 7:15 for their first home game of the new year.
Wrestling
The ‘Rines faced off against Wheaton on Tuesday, December 17. Sophomore Romeo Tsai and senior Victor Kum won their events.
The Wolverine coed wrestling team defeated Paint Branch High School’s Panthers on Thursday, December 19. Every single player won their event, ending in a final score of 86-0. The team will face off against Kennedy High School on Saturday, January 18.
Swim and Dive
The swimming ‘Rines faced off against Clarksburg High School on Saturday, December 14 at the Olney Swim Center. Sophomore Marley Hammond earned first place in the backstroke event. They face off against Springbrook High School on Saturday, January 4 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Swim Center.
