Sports Wrap-Up: September 14, 2018
Girls Volleyball
Girls varsity volleyball suffered a loss at the hands of the Gaithersburg Trojans. The ‘Rines, who lost 3-0 on Thursday, September 13, put up a fight each set but ultimately still lost in the end.
“We are still a young team. I know with some hard work and more practice we can do a lot better for next game,” coach Kauri Martin said.
“We definitely work on our formations,” junior player Miyah Hayes said. “But with a little work, we can definitely do better.”

Field Hockey
Field hockey took on a tough Blair Blazer team on Thursday, September 13 at home. The ‘Rines fought hard but ultimately came up short with a loss of 2-0.
“We played good defense and our goalie had good saves,” sophomore Madison Coombs said. “Our offense was passing the ball very effectively.” The team looks to rebound with a win this Saturday, September 15 at Wheaton High School at 10 am.
