Sports Wrap Up: Indoor Track
Watkins Mill Wolverines indoor track season is coming to a close with an amazing finish to the season at the 3A state championship on February 20.
The boys 4×2 placed 2nd overall in the state missing first by just a split of a second. The girls 4×2 placed 2nd overall in the state. Our very own junior Nana Tutu ran for third in the girls 55mm. “Competing at states was an honor. I was nervous before competing but after seeing I placed third in the 55, I was excited to see how my hard work has paid off,” Tutu said.
Prior to this, the Wolverines made their names known in the 3A West Regional meet with satisfying times all across the board. We also saw some of our athletes break school records.
The ‘Rines track squad looks to get together one last time by qualifying for the New Balance Indoor Nationals which will be held all the way in New York, NY on March 9th. Let’s wish our fellow Wolverines the best of luck!
