Sports Wrap Up: February 1

Indoor Track

The Wolverines Indoor Track season had a lot of individual accomplishments and success to bring back home from the Montgomery County meet last Tuesday, January 30. The boys and girls raced well against the rest of the county placing second in the boys 4×2, third in the 4×4, and third overall in the girls 4×2.

“Breaking school records is such an amazing opportunity because it gives me the opportunity to do something amazing in life,” said junior Jada Sobratti after breaking a Watkins Mill record previously held by Melanie Dakwa.

The boys and girls Wolverines look to demonstrate the same success at the 3A West Regionals on February 8th at the Prince George’s Sportsplex.

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team won big time against the Damascus Hornets last night, January 31, by a final score of 76-38.

“The game went well , everybody was working together in making shots and showing their energy on the court,” said senior Jaime Castillo.

The ‘Rines look to extend their win streak against Kennedy High School away this Friday February 2nd at 5:30pm, so come out and support.
