Sports Wrap Up: January 9
Wrestling
Wrestling fought hard against Wheaton High School after a loss to the Rockville Rams. They weren’t able to pick up the win, but they look to bounce back and get their first team win, Wednesday, January 17 at home against the Poolesville Falcons.
“I think we need to focus more and make sure everyone is paying attention and being supportive of one another. Once we start doing those key things, everyone can have a good overall season,” senior Azmi Abdelrahman said.
Swim and Dive
Wolverines swim and dive teams each finished in second place on Saturday January 6 in a tri-meet against the Kennedy Cavaliers and the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles. The boys team finished with 82 points and the girls team with 98 points. The ‘Rines will take on the Paint Branch Panthers and the Albert Einstein Titans on Saturday January 13 at 9:15 am. Head out to the Germantown Indoor Swim Center to cheer your ‘Rines on!
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team lost their second straight game in a row this past Friday, as they lost to Blake High School to a score of 59-53.
“We came out flat, and turned up when it was too late,” said senior Victor Iglesias. “We gotta just come out with more intensity and better game plan (for today’s game).”
The ‘Rines look to bounce back against the Damascus Hornets tonight, at 7:15pm, so come out and support them to victory!
