Sports Wrap – Up October 18
Boys Soccer
‘Rines Win! The boys soccer team defeated the Walter Johnson Wildcats to a score of 1-0 on the Wolverines ‘senior night’.
The game was slow in the first half, but the ‘Rines grinded it out and scored the game clinching goal with five minutes left in the game. It was a hard fought game by both teams but the Wolverines won it for their seniors. Senior captain Yann Kouemi added, “We did [well], I think we put on a show for the fans, and came out with a win.” The soccer team had 10 graduating Seniors on the team.
The ‘Rines soccer team looks to finish out the regular season this Thursday October 19, at Quince Orchard High School at 5:15, so come out and support!
Girls Soccer
The Wolverines played a tough game on their ‘senior night’ but lost 7-1 after a tough first half. Even though the game was not going their way, the ‘Rines kept energy high and there was much excitement in the stadium. Senior captain Megan Dakwa has played goalie her whole high school career but got the opportunity to be a striker for the last six minutes of the game.
The ‘Rines will take on the Quince Orchard Cougars tomorrow October 19 at 7:15 in a varsity double header. Head over to Quince Orchard to help lead the ‘Rines to victory in the last game of their regular season!
